CEPHEUS is a web-based enterprise management system, compatible
with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. CEPHEUS
combines characteristics of CRM (Customer Relationship Management),
Project Management and groupware systems.
There is no single enterprise management system fulfilling
needs of all businesses; moreover even most popular software
packages targeted for specific vertical markets may lack functionality
to address particular requirements. CEPHEUS is what we call
a “60/40 class system” which means that 60% is
ready “out of the box” and 40% requires customization.
The system for the end-user is customized based on the model
of business processes executed by his organization. The building
blocks for the system are components: small pieces of business
data and logic. For example customer component contains customer
database access and presentation routines. The process of
building the systems consists of the following steps:
- Describe business processes which are executed by an organization.
- Determine which components are required.
- Determine interactions, sequences and workflow.
- Determine analyses and reports required.
CEPHEUS is business process oriented: instead of modelling
business process to match a computer system, a computer system
is built, to match business needs.
CEPHEUS can be accessed from the corporate intranet or by
mobile users using secure, encrypted connections tunnelled
through the Internet or Virtual Private Network (VPN).
It also can be run in the ASP model – which means that
the system will be run for you – no backup issues, no
system administrator, and low cost of ownership.
